All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Greetings on this “chilly” Wednesday!  Just to give you all a heads up Rev. Olckers is preaching this Sunday.  I will be here for Bible Study at 8:30AM and of course I will be leading the worship liturgy and I would not miss the Chili Luncheon.  So why not come and spend the morning with us here at Trinity Lutheran Church!

I will be out of town starting tomorrow morning through Saturday evening.  I will be attending a Circuit Visitor’s Meeting in Orlando than taking a day to spend with my grandaughter Scarlet on her 3rd Birthday!

Please do not forget the Ladies Guild Garage and Bake Sale on Friday and Saturday.   You can drop things off at the garage in the Thursday morning .  Have all your baked good by tomorrow Thursday in the kitchen.

Liz has started working on our month Trinity Tidings.  If you have an article or an announcement please get it to Liz by next Wednesday so that Monthly Trinity Tidings can be sent our promptly by the first.  Announcements about meetings dates and times, special events or insightful articles are sought.  This is the publication to get the message out to everyone about what is going on here at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Next week is Country Fair preparation week.  Many different things going on including Apple Crisp Preparation, par boiling the bratwursts, getting the soda purchased.  The tent will go up and all the tables and chairs, grill, LP tanks and warmers brought over the circle next Friday.  Volunteers for this will be told on Sunday what time to be here at the church to load the trailers and trucks.  There are any number of things that need to be done.  If you want to volunteer please speak to Susan to volunteer next week or sign up to work at the tent.

From time to time I am asked a question about our worship setting or why we do something during worship.  In the near future Susan and I are crafting a service to explain the different ancient terms used for the different parts of our service.  Recently at a Circuit Meeting we were discussing “why we stand for the reading of the Gospel.”  One Pastor observed that we stand for the reading of the Gospel because we are giving honor to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ.  The Gospels are the Words of Jesus for us to hear and so it is appropriate for us to stand for the reading and the hearing of the Gospel.  In our society we stand when royalty enters the room, or when

a judge enters the courtroom or maybe the President of the United States.  So it is out of respect and honor that we should rise when we come to hearing the Words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Stay warm today, this too shall pass.  Have a great remainder of your week and make it great for someone else.
