All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

          Greetings on this Friday afternoon/evening!

This weekend, Saturday night, we set our clocks ahead one hour before we go to bed so we will get to church on time.  You loose one hours of sleep!

Sunday is the second Sunday of the month and it is Dragon Den food collection Sunday.  Please bring what you can.

In Sunday Morning Bible Study we are going to look at a Biblical answer to the Critical Race Theory that has been polluting our society for years.  The study is from Rightnow Media and is led by Rev. Tony Evans.  It promises to be a very stimulating study.

President Bardon requests that you turn in your “surveys” so these can be compiled and studied.

He also requests that all members and winter residents take time to get their pictures taken for the New Pictorial Directory being put together.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NEXT WEEK THE OFFICE AND SCHOOL IS CLOSED.  (IT IS SPRING BREAK FOR ALL SACHOOLS) THE NEW ROOF IS GOING ON THE BUILDING AND WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BE INJURED OR NAILS IN TIRES.

WE WILL BE HAVING MID-WEEK LENTEN SERVICE NEXT WEDNESDAY AT 4:00PM.

THE ROOFERS ARE STOPPING WORK AT 3:00PM THAT DAY SO WE CAN HAVE CHURCH AT 4:00PM.

Daring to Make a Difference... Let's Talk About Jesus!

Just as a candle in a dark room is easily seen and draws the attention of all who are around, even faith the size of a mustard seed, when planted, can make an eternal difference in the lives of the lost and those who love them.

So, the theme of our 2023 FLGA Lenten Devotions is: Daring to Make a Difference…Let’s Talk about Jesus! May the Lord use these daily devotions from Ash Wednesday through Easter to encourage, engage and equip you to make an eternal difference!

“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.  But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life." 1 Timothy 1:15-17 ESV

Let’s Talk About Jesus….and let’s do it using nine words from Paul: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

In a sinful, broken world filled with hurting, wounded people, this trustworthy saying is

a powerful message of redemption.

Taken phrase by phrase, this simple sentence provides a pathway to talk about who Jesus is and what Jesus has done.

CHRIST JESUS: Christ is the Greek word for Messiah and means one anointed for a particular calling. Mary was told to name her baby Jesus because “he would save people from their sin” (Matt 1:21).  Together, the name Christ Jesus tells us that God selected and anointed his Son to be our Savior.

CAME: To come, you must exist before. Jesus, “who was and is and is to come” left his throne on heaven to become a man” (Rev 1:8). He came to do “the will of his Father,” knowing his purpose was to suffer and die as payment for our sins (John 5:19).

INTO THE WORLD: Jesus, who with his Father, created the world chose to come into the world he created. Out of love, he entered our messy world, fully human and yet fully God. He came “into the world to bear witness to the truth” that salvation is found only in him (John 18:37).

TO SAVE: Jesus had one purpose, to “seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). He came to save us from sin, to rescue us from the devil, to deliver us from the wrath of God, and to secure our home in heaven.

SINNERS: We sin daily by what we do. We sin by what we say. We sin by what we fail to do and fail to say. Paul. Me. You. Mankind. “For all have sinned” and through faith in Christ Jesus who came into the world to save, all sins are forgiven (Rom 3:23).

Nine powerful words. Who will you share them with today?
