All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Happy New Year!  Here we are already at the 2nd of January, 2024!  Did you see the Lutheran Hour Float in the Rose Bowl Parade yesterday?  The theme was “Make a Joyful Noise, Unto the Lord”  beautiful.  They did not win any awards this year but it is the 73rd year that the Lutheran Hour had an entry.  When I was working on my Doctorate I got to see a part of the parade route since I was taking classes in Pasadena.  We have a LCMS church two blocks or so from the parade route.  The Rose Bowl Parade is always a highlight of New Years Day!

If you can do “Just A Little More In 2024” the Altar Care Committee is looking for new members.  You can be a woman or a man young or old, it really makes no difference.  It doesn’t matter if you are here a few months each year or year round, they need your assistance.  The guild are doing a lot with just a few, and it is getting hard to get everything accomplished.  So if you are interested PLEASE dprsk to Patty Stevens or Arlene Harmon this Sunday, they would love to  add you to the Altar Care Committee.

Our Financial Secretary, Sandy Rybacki stated on Sunday that you should use your new 2024 offering envelopes.  If you did not get offering envelopes but would like them please respond to this email and indicate you desire and I will forward your request to Sandy.  Please include if married both your first and last names or in you are single your first and last name.  Include you address as well.

Adult Bible Study resumes this Sunday at 8:30AM.  We will be looking at the 7 Cities of the book of Revelation from Right Now Media.  It is not a deep study of Revelation, but it can put things into perspective concerning what was going on in each city at the time of the book of Revelation was written.  Come join us for the study.

Looking forward into the year 2024 many of our forth coming Gospel readings will be coming from the book of Mark.  I will be focuing in on preaching on the Gospels in 2024.  I have attached for you a free copy from CPH the 2023-2024 Church Year Calendar – Series B for you to see the reading for each Sunday of the Church Year.

I have also added my sermon for this Sunday 1/7/2024.  We will be focusing on Jesus Baptism and your own Baptismal Renewal.  See you on Sunday!  Have a great week and make it a great for someone else as well.
