All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this Friday, February 16th, 2024! It is hard to believe that February is over one half over already. The year seems to moving very quickly.
Susan asked me to remind all of you that if you still want to bring food in for the Dragon Den Food Collection you can do so this Sunday as well because she simply did not have time to get the food over to the Middle School this week.
Additionally she said that she still has a few Bratwurst left in the freezer. First come first serve. Call her here at the church at 465-5253 if you want to secure you Bratwurst before Sunday.
. Ladies please remember that one week from tomorrow, Saturday February 24th, 2024 is the Spring LWML Zone Rally here at Trinity Lutheran Church
I have been remice this Lent in so far I have failed to share with you the Daily Lenten Devitional written by FL/GA District Circuit Visitors, staff and Vice-President. The link to these devotions is Lenten Devotions – FLGA District. Just simply “Ctrl-Click” and you will be taken to the site.
For those of you wondering about my Aunt Helen. She was transported by Ambulance a week ago this past Sunday to the hospital where she has been since then. She was in Renal Failure and Congestive Heart Failure. She is in Renal Failure meaning that the shots that she has been taking now for several years are no longer effective. She has agreed to go on dialysis, so she had two surgeries this week to put in the port that is needed. The first was a temporary one and the second was for the permanent one. She has had 4 treatments of dialysis this week. Although they removed a great amount of fluid from around her heart and lungs in a separate procedure, her body is filling up with fluid once again, which means they will need to drain the fluid once again, maybe today. The dialysis sessions take 3 hours each time they do it. She is very weak and has difficulty speaking right now. Susan and I try to spend some time each evening with her and find out what has been done throughout the day.
If you are so inclined to send a card to her, she is at

Please do not forget to keep up with your “Steps of Faith” Advent/Lenten Denial folders. We ask you to set aside $5 or $10 a week for 20 Weeks and turn your folder in on or around Easter. We got the folders out to you a few weeks late because Easter is so early this year, but we are sure that many of you will deny yourselves these small amounts of money each week.
This Sunday is the First Sunday in Lent. Since Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday, the Sundays in Lent and Sundays in general are considered “Mini Easters”. Sundays are not counted in the 40 days of Lent, hence there are technically there are 46 days in Lent.
This Sunday there will be Holy Communion offered.
Next Wednesday the first witness for the “Christ on Trial” series will be Matthew.
See you Sunday in Bible Study at 8:30AM as we continue our study of Joshua.
Or See you in Church at 10:00AM for worship!
Thank you and have a great remainder of your week and stay dry as rain is on the way this weekend at some time.
