All Members, Winter Residents, Family Friends and Staff,

Greetings on this August Wednesday!   Well the second week of school is half over and things are going very well.  Trinity Tots Preschool is completely full!  We have a great staff working with us this year.  Rev. Olckers and I went last week to have our background screening done.  This is like the 5 or 6th screening I have had in the past 8 years.  It seems one agency does not talk to another agency when it comes to background checks.  We need to have these screenings for all our staff who have contact with the children of Trinity Tots.

Please remember that if you come to Trinity for any reason please check with the front office if you are going to any of the classrooms or down the hall.

Well I am afraid that our Carillon Speaker up on our roof may have been hit by lightning.  The Carillon works as I can hear it in the closet where we have it located.  It is not playing outside.  I have no idea who to call about this, any suggestions?  Bassett Electric in Sebring maybe?  I do not know.  The last time this happened I believe one of our members ascended the roof to fix it, but I would never suggest that to anyone, that roof is steep!

The majority of the Church Council has agreed to set aside Saturday morning September 14th, 2019 beginning at 8:30AM, for a Planning Summit.  This meeting is intended to plan out our year from December 2019 to December 2020 when Trinity will celebrate our 45th Anniversary of Ministry here in Lake Placid.  Any who has some constructive to suggest as fellowship opportunities or needed projects, hopes and dreams, apart from seeing and increase in attendance, please bring your ideas and willingness to help plan and implement them.

What I am looking for is as many fellowship activities, (if you already know dates of events please bring them with you for our master calendar) concerts, movies, special events that we can come up with to fill the next year with opportunities.  What we don’t need are ideas that are unrealistic or grandiose for our smaller congregation.  We also do not need “Negative Nellies” coming and shooting down every idea.  Will every idea make the “cut”, probably not, but it may be something that we can do in the future.

So congregational leaders and member, winter residents, I am compiling a list of ideas of things we would like to see accomplished or undertaken here at Trinity in the coming year!  It all starts now in the planning stages so we can be prepared for our 45th Anniversary and celebrate it throughout the year.

Please submit your ideas by responding to this email.

I will be out of town Thursday and Friday at a Circuit Visitor’s meeting in Orlando at the District Office.  If you need a pastor please call Rev. Olckers at 1-501843-3775.

There will be a “Memorial/Celebration of Life” for Norma Jean Denhart at Scott Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 2:00PM.  Norma is a friend of several members and she has attended church here, but never joined.  Please come and support the family if you are free Sunday afternoon.

I have attached my Sermon for Sunday the 3rd in the series “Dangerous Prayers.”

Have a great remainder of your week.  And remember to stop for school busses loading and unloading students or you will be heavily fined if caught!!!

Respectfully In Christ,

Rev. Richard Norris

All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Sorry I gave you the incorrect phone number for Rev. Olckers.  I did not copy it correctly off his business card.  This is the correct one…+1 561 843 3775.

A few additional items about the Planning Summit on September 14th at 8:30AM.

  1. Breakfast will be served so we need to know how many additional people beyond the Church Council will be attending.
  2. We are looking for some fresh ideas, not the same ones that have already been on the calendar items such as …Bible Study Wednesday morning; LWML Meetings; Crafts with Linda and Julie; Church Council Meetings; Elder Meetings; School Board Meetings; Country Fair Bratwurst Booth; Caladium Festival Bratwurst Booth . . . You get the idea, what we have been doing we will probably keep doing.

We are looking for NEW ideas!

  1. You do not have to be an officer to attend we want people with ideas to come and join us.
  2. If you are willing to cook something for breakfast please email Susan This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

OK thanks everyone!
